COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

  • Leah Wagner is the Communications Coordinator for the Alaska Just Transition Collective. She was raised both on the east and west coast, but has now lived longer than either in Deishú on Jilkoot Aaní with her family on their regenerative farm. She has a BA in Politics from Oberlin College and founded one of the only open-pollinated seed companies in North America specializing in varieties for northern growers. Leah and her family also operate a small retail shop and cafe where they gather community around local food.

Leah is a proud winner of Spruce Root’s Path to Prosperity business competition and currently serves as the Treasurer for the Alaska Farmers Market Association working to support food access and hunger relief programs statewide.  Leah takes great joy in feeding those around her and loves using local ingredients in dishes that celebrate her Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jewish heritage.
